Elena Vance (b. 1988) is a contemporary painter whose work explores the intersection of memory and physical space. Her process involves the slow accumulation of oil paint and cold wax, built up in layers and then scarred, scraped, and excavated to reveal the history beneath.

Based in London, Vance’s practice is a meditative dialogue with the canvas. Each piece is an attempt to capture the fleeting nature of atmosphere—the way light catches a dusty room, or the heavy silence before a storm.
