Julian Sloan

The Poet

Julian Sloan is a poet and essayist whose work examines the intersection of landscape, memory, and the limitations of language.

Born in the Pacific Northwest, Sloan's writing is deeply influenced by the stark textures of the coast and the quietude of the deep forest.

He is the recipient of multiple awards, including the National Book Award for Poetry and a Guggenheim Fellowship. He currently lives and writes in a small cabin in rural Vermont.

"
"Sloan's work is a masterclass in restraint. Every word carries the weight of a mountain."
The New York Times
"A quiet revolution in contemporary verse. Minimalist, yet deeply affecting."
The Guardian
"There is a stillness here that is rare in modern literature. A breath of fresh air."
Poetry Magazine
