Static Signal didn't start in a studio. It started in a flooded basement in East Nashville with a broken 4-track recorder and a box of unlabelled cassettes.
Founded by childhood friends Leo Thorne and Sarah Vane, the duo sought to capture the sound of their city's forgotten corners—the hum of neon signs, the rattle of the freight trains, and the raw energy of the DIY scene.
Their sound is a deliberate rejection of digital perfection. Every track is recorded to tape, embracing the hiss, the flutter, and the occasional mechanical failure as essential components of the music. It's indie rock stripped back to its skeleton, then electrified.
